HM King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco has offered condolences in a message to the Nepalese President, HE Ram Baran Yadav, in the wake of the devastating earthquake that has ravaged several regions of the Himalayan country.

In the message, HM the King said he was deeply saddened to learn about the violent earthquake that hit several regions in Nepal, including the capital Kathmandu, causing huge human loss.

On this painful occasion, HM the King expressed to the Nepalese President and to the families of the victims heartfelt condolences and compassion.
In view of the ordeal being faced by Nepal, the Moroccan Government has decided to provide one million US dollars in emergency grant aid to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

This emergency aid will be sent to Nepal through the United Nations as part of the efforts of the international community to help the country cope with the devastating effects of the disaster and alleviate the suffering of its people.

In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Mr. Sushil Koirala, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Nepal, HE Larbi Reffough, too has expressed sincerest condolences to PM Koirala and through him to the families of people who have lost their lives or whose kin are missing. He has wished speedy recovery to the injured.

“I have the honour to inform your Excellency that upon High Instructions of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, the Moroccan government has decided to provide one million US dollars in emergency grant aid to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal,” the Ambassador stated.

Significantly, poet-lyricist and philanthropist, Mr. Basant Chaudhary, who is also the honorary consul general of the Kingdom of Morocco to Nepal, coordinated for this grant aid.
